Libs Elliott's Embrace the Chaos, An Exercise in Controlled Randomness-May 16, 2025-Collierville

Friday, May 16, 2025, 10am-4pm, Collierville (with lunch break)

Skill level: Adult Confident beginner to Advanced quilter- You have quilting experience. You can consistently sew a straight line and and a 1/4” seam. You must have a mastery of your sewing machine including threading, bobbin winding, changing needle, stitch length adjustment, and changing out presser feet.. You are able to use a rotary cutter and mat to cut your fabric.

Using only paper and pencils - no computers required! - LIbs will walk students through a series of worksheet exercises that mimic the programming language she uses to generate her quilt patterns. By using controlled elements in a random way, each participant will end up with a unique quilt pattern layout - no two Chaos Quilts are the same!
As a group, you’ll discuss design flow and tweak your individual layout. Then you’ll cut fabrics and work on piecing your design using provided block-building instructions. At the end of the class, each participant will leave with her/his own random geometric quilt design and will have the knowledge required to complete the project.

Fabric requirements (Must be purchased at the Sewing House:)
The Sewing House carries Libs’ fabric, and she has a new line coming out in early Spring 2025. We will curate kits closer to the class date.

For special event classes, there are no refunds or store credits. You may transfer your registration to another person at any time.

Payment options: pay in full ($169) or pay half now/half in January (two payments of $84.50.) All payments are non-refundable.
