Advanced Free Motion Quilting

Saturday March 25 and June 24, 1pm to 3pm, Collierville

Saturday April 22 and May 27, virtual class sessions

Prerequisite: This class is for students who have previously taken Introduction to Free Motion Quilting at the Sewing House or another FMQ class with Nysha

Instructor: Nysha Nelson

Objective: for students to deepen their knowledge of continuous line design by (a) finding inspiration, (b) dissecting the design, (c) creating sampler to exemplify this knowledge.

This sampler will show the impact of thread’s gauge and colour on the quilted surface to increase awareness of the nuances and choices open to them when free-motion quilting.

Fabric requirements:

Nysha will help with fabric selections at your first class.

3 solid fabrics -1/8 yd each

4+ patterned fabrics-1/8 yd each

3/8 to 1 yard fabric for backing (Solid colour recommended)

1 yard batting of choice

1/2 yard fabric for binding
