We are honored to be a Quilt of Valor® (QOV) registered shop! A Quilt of Valor is a quality, handmade quilt awarded to a Service Member or a Veteran who has been touched by war. The quilt says unequivocally, "Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation."
To nominate a recipient:
Our QOV outreach began in 2021 when we awarded 14 quilts to Mid-South Veterans. Our QOV efforts have continued and we are again collecting donated quilt blocks, quilt tops, and completed quilts. We have a group called The Sewing House Quilts of Valor Volunteers on Facebook and always welcome new members! Donations are accepted year-round!
1. Blocks can be 8 1/2", 10 1/2" or 12 1/2"
2. 100% quality cotton fabric
3. Patriotic fabrics - red, white & blue
4. Patriotic designs (we're partial to stars!)
5. Avoid juvenile prints & branch-specific fabric.
6. At drop-off, we'd love to take your pic with your donation (or email us a pic.)
We also invite guilds to join and ask for team captains to volunteer each year! Please contact us through our website contact form to learn more.
Completed quilt donations - QOV sizes 60" x 80" (min 55" x 65") & max 72" x 90"
(We can longarm & provide backing/batting as needed.)
You may drop off your donated blocks and quilts at our Collierville, TN, or Tupelo, MS shop at your convenience.
Need fabric inspiration? Stop by and shop with us! We’d love to help you get started with this wonderful project!
As we award quilts to Veterans, we will share photos on The Sewing House Facebook and Instagram accounts. If you’d like to be a part of the quilt awards presentation, please reach out to us!
