Alex Baby Alpaca Scarf Kit

This luxurious scarf kit features a very special baby alpaca yarn, known for its softness and warmth.  Pure black alpacas account for only .03% of the alpaca population.  Eco Puna Black yarn is an undyed fiber from these rare alpacas.  The sale of this yarn also supports the Yanapaco (black alpaca) program which seeks to provide incentives for the breeding of the pure black alpacas in the Andean communities of Peru.  

The Alex Scarf pattern is a simple ribbed scarf that can be knit up in a wide range of different yarn combinations, depending on desired look. The scarf is worked back and forth, from wingtip to wingtip, in a 2x2 rib pattern that will keep its shape well, both lengthwise and widthwise.
