Basic Needlepoint Finishing-August 27-Collierville

Join us for this special class to learn ‘tried and true’ construction methods to uniquely showcase your needlepoint. This is an entry-level class featuring the assembly of needlepoint using boards. You will acquire blocking and pattern making skills, lacing and trick and tips for smooth edges, textile and fabric terminology, and remarkable embellishment making techniques.
In this hands-on class, you will learn a cost effective method of finishing needlepoint, and acquire a set of versatile creative textile skills. With practice you can become a skillful maker featuring your own one-of-a-kind creations for your needlepoint.
Level: Adult entry-level
Class requirements:
You will provide one fully stitched needlepoint ornament. It must be a 4-5” round or a 4-5" square.
Finishing kits with all necessary supplies purchased at the Sewing House.
Judith is formally trained in clothing and textile design and taught apparel production at Auburn University. She is a former apparel pattern-maker and production development specialist for the apparel industry. She also owned a needlepoint shop and finishing workroom for 24 years and has been assembling needlepoint for over 30 years.
