Granny Square Crochet Class—October 31—Memphis

Learn to crochet a traditional granny square in this easy-to-follow workshop. This class is perfect for experienced beginners who haven’t quite mastered the art of crocheting the classic granny square. You can expect for this class to really slow down the process of crocheting and interchanging colors to make the perfect granny square, just in time for the holidays!

Level: Advanced Beginner—you have previously taken a crochet class or know basic crochet stitches.

Instructor: Candice Harris

Finished Product: You will make a traditional granny square, which can be sewn together to make warm blankets, stylish garments, beautiful shawls, and more! 

Class Details: In this one-session class, you will learn the fundamentals of crocheting a granny square, including how to complete a magic ring, slip stitch, single crochet stitch, and double crochet stitch. You also have the option to learn how to interchange colors in your granny square.

Pattern: Your instructor, Candice, will provide the pattern in class. There is no additional purchase necessary for it.

Yarn and notion requirements, available at The Sewing House:

• 1-2 skeins of Woolstock Worsted yarn
  • Note: If you choose to learn how to interchange colors, you will need at least 2 skeins.
• 5 mm crochet hook
  
• Scissors
