Lunch and Learn: All About Gauge-February 18-Collierville

For many knitters gauge is a mysterious word. Understanding gauge is the most important tool to make a garment fit, calculate the width of a scarf, or the circumference of a hat.

This lunch class covers the basics of yarn weights: lace, fingering, sport, DK, worsted, and chunky. We will learn to make the perfect gauge swatch, measure it and do a little basic math.

Please bring a small amount of a light colored solid yarn (any weight) and a variety of knitting needles so we can try different tensions. Knitting needles can be straight, circular or double-pointed.
A calculator is also helpful, or you can use the one on your phone.
