Instructor: Tiffany Geistkemper

Now’s your chance to explore the amazing world of stranded colorwork! This class will introduce students to two-color stranded knitting in the round by making a cowl. Students will learn about various stranded knitting techniques (including both continental-style knitting, i.e., “picking,” and American-style knitting, i.e., “throwing”), reading colorwork charts, float tension, and color dominance. We will also briefly discuss stranded knitting with more than two colors, working stranded knitting flat, and swatching stranded knitting.

Level: Adult Intermediate. Students should be comfortable knitting, purling, ribbing (1x1), casting on, binding off, increasing (M1L), decreasing (K2TOG), knitting in the round, and basic pattern reading. Please note that students will need to knit the hem of the cowl before class begins.
