Level: Adult Beginner-You have sewing experience, are comfortable using your sewing machine, and can consistently stitch a straight line and 1/4” seam
Take your quilts to the next level with Free Motion Quilting on your domestic machine. This class introduces you all the skills needed to free-motion quilt and turn quilt tops into finished quilts. Much like writing, learn the basics of mark making so you can create any pattern you desire. Step by step we will work through making simple marks, then putting marks together and finally how to break down any existing design (or one in your head!) into the basic marks for you recreate it with ease.
In addition to learning how to master making basic marks, in this class you will also learn the basics of tension, color, dimension and choosing materials; Why one type of batting and not another? Are threads really that different? What color should I use to quilt with? And so much more. You are encouraged to practice between classes.

Quilt Sandwich kit and thread purchased at the Sewing House
