Introduction to English Paper Piecing-April 5-Collierville

This technique class will give you an overview of English Paper Piecing, a fun and portable method of hand piecing. We will talk about tools used, choosing fabrics, and various techniques for cutting fabric pieces and sewing them into your design. This very traditional art has been given a few modern twists that make it even more fast and fun.

You will learn about types of English Paper Piecing templates, how they are used to create the elements for your design, methods of basting your pieces, and sewing them into your project. You will also learn about different notions and supplies that may be used, and how they make your paper piecing faster and more accurate. You may learn your new favorite summer craft to take with you on the go!

You will use the skills you learn in class to create paper pieced appliqués from beautiful Liberty of London fabrics, to stitch onto a cute zipper bag which is perfect to hold your supplies for future EPP projects. This is a hand sewing class.

Level: Beginner-no hand sewing experience needed

Fabric requirements purchased at the Sewing House;
English Paper Piecing kit (includes fabric, templates, needle, thread, and pouch, Approximately $20)
