Wednesday, October 2, 9, and 16, 10am to 12pm, Collierville

Learn to knit socks! Brigitte will teach the basic top down sock technique and help you complete your first pair of handmade socks. Once you make one pair, you'll be hooked!  In this class, you will cast on and knit on double pointed needles, learn how to knit a short row heel and finish the toe. Homework between classes is required.

Level: Adult Advanced Beginner-You already have basic knitting skills and how to knit and purl, double-point experience helpful but not necessary. 

Yarn requirements purchased at the Sewing House/Delta Fibre Arts:
One skein of sock yarn (100 gr. or approx. 400 yards fingering sock) 
For your first sock, pick light to medium colored yarn, nothing too dark. 
Sock pattern provided by the instructor

Double pointed needles in the size required for the yarn (# 1,  # 1.5 or # 2 depending on your gauge - teacher will help you determine the right size.)
