Swiss embroidery, has a rich history that dates back to the 15th century. It originated in Switzerland and quickly gained popularity for its intricate and delicate designs. Swiss embroidery lace is a type of lace that is created using a machine embroidery technique called Schiffli embroidery. The embroidery technique provides a freedom of design and ability to create unique three-dimensional effects like holes, superposés, multiple fabric layers, etc. and can be placed onto a variety of bases like fabrics, knits or non-wovens.
This cotton trim is used in heirloom sewing. Swiss Entredeux with the seam allowance left on can be used to join fabrics; when the seam allowance is taken off it is used to join lace together.
