Westerly Hat Knitting Class—November 5, 12, and 19—Memphis

Looking for a cute winter accessory or a fun holiday gift that will expand your knitting skills? The westerly hat is a fun and quick cabled project for just that!
In this class, you will learn how to knit three types of cables and interpret written and charted instructions. You will also learn how to swatch in a cabled pattern, work increases and decreases, and put the final touches on a hat. You will have homework in between classes.
Level: Intermediate or Confident Advanced Beginner—You should have completed multiple projects and be ready to learn basic cable techniques.

Yarn and notion requirements, available at The Sewing House:
- 90-220 yards of a solid or semi-solid Worsted or DK weight yarn
- Note: Solid colors will bring out the cables more than a variegated yarn.
- 16 inch circular knitting needles in size US 4
- 16 inch circular knitting needles in size US 7
- Double-pointed knitting needles in size US 7
- Cable needle
- Darning needle
- Stitch markers
Yarn recommendations include a solid or semi-solid color of Rios by Malabrigo, Merino DK by Yarn Nouveau, or Superwash DK by Sweet Georgia.
